Breaking News: It Is Official Cartoon Character Green Lantern Is Gay & Out Of The Closet!!!
Green Lantern relaunched as brave, mighty and gay
The Associated Press

PHILADELPHIA — Green Lantern, one of DC Comics’ oldest and most enduring heroes, is serving as a beacon for the publisher again, this time as a proud, mighty and openly gay hero.
The change is revealed in the pages of the second issue of “Earth 2” out next week, and comes on the heels of what has been an expansive year for gay and lesbian characters in the pages of comic books from Archie to Marvel and others.
But purists and fans note: This Green Lantern is not the emerald galactic space cop Hal Jordan who was, and is, part of the Justice League and has had a history rich in triumph and tragedy.
Instead, he’s a parallel earth Green Lantern. James Robinson, who writes the new series, said Alan Scott is the retooled version of the classic Lantern whose first appearance came in the pages of “All-American Comics” No. 16 in July 1940.
And his being gay is not part of some wider story line meant to be exploited or undone down the road, either.
“This was my idea,” Robinson explained this week, noting that before DC relaunched all its titles last summer, Alan Scott had a son who was gay.
But given “Earth 2” features retooled and rebooted characters, Scott is not old enough to have a grown son.
“By making him younger, that son was not going to exist anymore,” Robinson said.
“He doesn’t come out. He’s gay when we see him in issue two,” which is due out Wednesday. “He’s fearless and he’s honest to the point where he realized he was gay and he said ‘I’m gay.”‘
It’s another example of gay and lesbian characters taking more prominent roles in the medium.
In May, Marvel Entertainment said super speedster Northstar will marry his longtime boyfriend in the pages of “Astonishing X-Men.” DC comics has other gay characters, too, including Kate Kane, the current Batwoman, The Question, and married characters Apollo and the Midnighter.
And in the pages of Archie Comics, Kevin Keller is one of the gang at Riverdale High School and gay, too.
DC has been a leader in incorporating gay characters into its comics — they had one of the first male gay kisses back in 1988.
Since then, numerous comic book heroes and villains have been written as gay, lesbian or transgender — from Batwoman to Hulkling and Wiccan in the pages of “Young Avengers.”
Green Lantern would be the highest-profile openly gay hero — even the parallel earth version.
“It was just meant to be — Alan Scott being a gay member of the team, the Justice Society, that I’ll be forming in the pages of ‘Earth 2,”‘ Robinson said. “He’s just meant to be part of this big tapestry of characters.”
Some groups have protested the inclusion of gay characters, but Robinson isn’t discouraged, noting that being gay is just one aspect to Scott.
“This guy, he’s a media mogul, a hero, a dynamic type-A personality and he’s gay,” Robinson said. “He’s a complex character.”
Days of Our Lives Clips: Will Horton Comes Out To Sonny, Lucas, & Sami.
Days of Our Lives is the last American soap to have a gay storyline on mainstream television. The character Will Horton’s coming out experience is well written but the pace is too slow. Recently, Greg Meng the executive producer of Days of Our Lives stated that heterosexual women watch soaps for the romance.
I think some straight women would actually love to see Will and a relationship. The reticence of the Days of Our Lives producers is disappointing. How many times
can Will come out and tell everyone he’s gay? I believe Will deserves a love life just like the heterosexual characters. For instance, Chad and Melanie’s romance is so boring and they lack chemistry.
In this clip, Will’s mother Sami Brady walks out on her son when he tells her he is gay.
However, Will’s father Lucas is very compassionate, sensitive, and understanding. Lucas asks Will the right questions and I love the fact he questions Will about his friendship with Sonny.
In the second clip, you can see the intense chemistry Will and Sonny have with each other. Will is in love with Sonny and vice versa. Sonny has more life experience than Will and he is afraid of being in love with his best friend.
I am surprised that Days of Our Lives writers haven’t given Sonny more screen time he is a very important part of Will’s coming out story.
LA Complex Mid Season Finale: Is Kal & Tariq’s Relationship Just Entertainment Or Reinforcing Racist Stereotypes About Black Gay Men?
I am concerned about the representation of Kal and Tariq’s relationship on LA Complex. I am cognizant that Kal is a rapper in the closet but why does Kal and Tariq’s relationship have to be abusive? Why does Kal beat Tariq that’s not love that’s domestic violence!
Why are black men being depicted as violent? I think violence at the end is weird and abhorrent!
Why does Kal have to be a rap artist? I think that’s just lazy writing so a black gay man has to be on the down low? Give me a break! Why couldn’t Kal and Tariq be country western singers or something else? I don’t know but the whole hip hop industry thing reeks of racism.
One argument is the writers of LA Complex are illustrating gay relationships can be toxic and violent just like heterosexual relationships.
However, since there is a paucity of black gay men on television aren’t the LA Complex writers reinforcing racist and sexist stereotypes about black gay men?
Are the writers of LA Complex trying to say black gay love is violent? Would the writers of LA Complex write a white gay couple in this negative light? I doubt two white gay guys would have a violent relationship on Canadian television.
White homosexual characters in films and on television are depicted as loving and romantic. By contrast, a black gay couple’s relationship is depicted as abusive which makes me sick!
I abhor violence and to see Tariq in a pool of blood at the end of the scene makes me want to vomit!
LA Complex New Gay Kissing Scene: Kal Is Cruel To Tariq Because He Is Closeted But Claims He Still Loves Him!!!
Last week, I complained that LA Complex stereotypes gay black men. I was disappointed about the whole down low rapper storyline. Most gay black men are not rappers or musicians just regular people.
Now I have changed my mind. I think Kal and Tariq dysfunctional relationship is interesting drama. For some gay black men it is difficult to come out of the closet due to homophobia inside the black community. I think this story can help us black folks to have more dialogue about homosexuality.
The second scene in the studio Kal tries to act hard and create this persona that he is a heterosexual man is shocking.
Kal is hypocritical he is pretending to be straight yet treating Tariq like shit is disappointing yet real.
However, Kal is scared by his attraction to Tariq so he treats him badly. I think Tariq will have to decide whether he wants to deal with Kal`s internalized homophobia. It is refreshing to see two young gay black men on Canadian television! I hope the writers continue to expand the characters make them more real and not stereotype them.
In the final scene, my heart melted when Kal showed some vulnerability and admitted that he is attracted to Tariq.
By the way the kiss at the end of the last scene is so hot!!!
Leonardo Dicaprio & David Thewlis Gay Kiss scene from the 1995 film Total Eclipse.
I love this scene from the 1995 gay film Total Eclipse because Leonardo and David really gave everything in this scene. The gay kiss is powerful and very erotic.

CD Review Brandy “Human”

On December 30th 2006 Brandy Norwood’s life changed forever she was involved in a car accident on the Los Angeles highway and a woman died. The press immediately pounced on Brandy blaming her for the woman’s death but Brandy was cleared of all criminal charges.
Brandy became a recluse she rarely left her house for months in fear of being photographed by the media. The car accident was tragic but it was an accident. However, Brandy still has to deal with a $50 million dollar civil lawsuit.
“Human” is Brandy’s first album with Epic Records since she was released from Atlantic records after her 2004 album “Afrodisiac” flopped on the charts. Brandy has a solid track record she is a Grammy award winner and she has sold over 25 million records worldwide.
On Brandy’s first album release in four years “Human” she is clearly trying to reach an older audience. “Human” has a more softer sound Brandy is more emotional and fragile on this album then any of her previous records. The album has a more adult contemporary sound that is a mixture of R&B and pop. Although Brandy does not address the life altering incident of the car accident she does plead for understanding and forgiveness.
The intro to the album is simply Brandy talking about her life in the past four years how she has grown as a woman and as a young mother. The song “warm it up” (with love) is a nice sounding up tempo song about being in love in a relationship. The ballad “Right Here (Departed)” is such an emotional song it deals with losing someone you love and care for in life whether it is a lover, a best friend, or a family member.
The songs “True” & “Shattered Heart” are both beautiful songs they showcase Brandy’s improved vocal skills. The songs deal with moving on from losing someone you love and rising above the feelings of despair and moving on with life. Brandy sings from her heart on these songs.
“Human” is Brandy’s most mature album to date she is more introspective on this album. “Human” is a departure for Brandy because she is singing about depressing subjects such as lost love, self doubt, death, and unhappiness. Some Brandy fans may be surprised at the mellow sound of the album.
The only downside to “Human” is that there are not enough up tempo songs on the album. The song “Piano Man” is a very nice uptempo song. Brandy is known for making club bangers and on this album most of the songs are ballads and mid tempo songs.
The song “Human” is the best song on the album Brandy sings so passionately she is so vulnerable you can hear the pain in her voice . “Human” should of been the first single released but that’s just my opinion. I think “Human” can be a huge hit for Brandy.
I believe the general theme of “Human” is that we are all flawed individuals. We all make mistakes, we all have regrets in life but we can rise above the pain. I still believe Brandy’s second album “Never Say Never” is her best album but “Human” is a solid album.
Check Out Gabrielle Union In The New Movie Cadillac Records

Check out Gabrielle Union in the film Cadillac Records Gabrielle has a decent sized role in the movie. A lot of people talk about Halle Berry and say she is the hottest black actresss in Hollywood but I disagree. One thing I noticed about Halle Berry she doesn’t have an ass her ass is flat. Now look at Gabrielle Union she obviously has it all the looks, the intelligence, and look at her ass just look at it. It is obvious Gabrielle is a million times more sexier then Halle. I really like Gabrielle Union she has a B.A. degree in sociology from U.C.L.A. and she also is a solid actress. I wish Gabrielle was getting bigger roles but since Hollywood is notorious for skin tone racism I am not surprised. Gabrielle Union should be a bigger star. I am still searching for her 2006 Indie Movie Neo Ned I hear it is on DVD now.
