Australia Day Protesters Call Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard Racist For Treatment Of Aboriginals in Australia!!!

Yesterday, in the capital city of Canberra Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard received a rocky reception on Australia day. I wonder why people are surprised that some Aborigines  and their supporters  in Australia are furious at Prime Minister Julia Gillard?   Protesters surrounded a restaurant Prime Minister Gillard was attending and surrounded the facility shouting “racists” and “shame.”

The protesters were honouring the 1972 tent embassy protest when four Aboriginal men set up a tent demanding land rights.

In fact, Gillard lost her shoe after security removed her from the facility.  Australia has a long painful history of racism against Aboriginal people. Aboriginal children were stolen away from their parents and forced to become ” civilized” in the homes of white Australians. The residential school system involved a lot of sexual abuse and rape of boys and girls.

The United Nations needs to condemn the Australian government for not providing the Aboriginals more land rights. Australia is one of the richest countries in the world.

It is ludicrous for some white Australians to try to sweep the injustice the Aborigines experienced under a rug.

There is still a disparity between the standard of living of the whites and the Aboriginals in Australia. Some people claim that Australia must move on from the racist history of the past. The quandary is though the past wasn’t that long ago. Australia cannot just ignore the bigotry and prejudice some whites have for Aboriginals.
