It Is Official I Graduated York University With A B.A. Degree With Honours In Sexuality Studies!!!
It is official, I graduated York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree with honours in Sexuality Studies! I am very happy because I already have a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.
I decided to study Sexuality Studies because I am very interested in human sexuality.
I am not attending the graduation ceremony on June 14th 2011. Last time I graduated, the convocation was very boring and dry. I remember sitting on a hot stage with fluorescent lights beaming on my face for three hours. The graduation gown costs $60 dollars. Why should I waste my money for a ceremony that is three hours long? My first degree was a three-year degree. Now this Bachelor of Arts degree in Sexuality is a four-year degree. In Canada, an honours degree is a higher level of academic achievement. I completed a full course load which is thirty-six credits. I am thinking about applying to graduate school but I want to make the right decision. Of course, getting into a Masters program isn’t easy because the competition is fierce. I have a more positive attitude now. I feel I can achieve when I am focused.

congrats Orville! sounds like you are really focusing on what you want to achieve and whatever you decide will be your destiny. go with your heart but also consider some realities as well. grad school is a tremendous financial and time commitment. just make sure you are gonna get some return on that investment whether it’s financial, emotional, or intellectual.
i also go to york – congrats!
hey, a quick question. You said you already have a degree in art history but went back for a second degree. When you went back did you only have to complete 36 credits in order to get that second degree or did you go back for the full four years? Did you make it a double major? And how long after did you go back?
Thanks and Congrats!
Hello Juliette, I received transfer credits from York University prior to starting my second degree. York University has a policy that a Canadian university graduates receive transfer credits. York University gave me 60 transfer credits so that put me in third year. I only had to complete 60 additional credits in order to complete the second B.A. degree. It only took me two years to complete the second degree. I choose a completely different major the second time around.
