No I don’t think it is hypocrtitical the don’t ask don’t tell law is now abolished. Gay and lesbian soliders have a right to serve in the American military and not be treated as second class citizens.
We already have enough problems with a co-ed military, I can not begin to imagine the problems we will have.
This is UNjust because you are forcing str8 military to have to SHOWER, ROOM, LIVE IN CLOSE QUARTERS with those who they know might be sexually attracted to them.
As it stands now, DADT works well. I don’t want to know about the hetero’s night out…and he certainly doesn’t want to hear about mine.
When there are TWO wars going on, this is a bad time for a change.
There will be, unfortunately, some deaths among those who are violently opposed to folks like myself (but I refuse to be open, regardless of the new regs.)
This is SOCIAL EXPERIMENTATION with the military. Since the CANADIAN military is not considered the leader in the war among democracies — we Americans take on all comers — it doesn’t impact the Canadians.
Anyway, that’s OUR military — YOURS can do whatever it wants.
