Andrea Petkovic Of Germany Blasts Maria Sharapova In Fourth Round Of Australian Open.

Is Maria Sharapova finished as a grand slam contender? The question has to be asked because Maria Sharapova has only  reached one   grand slam quarterfinal since she won the Australian Open three years ago.  Andrea Petkovic of Germany, blasted Sharapova 6-2 6-3 in straight sets in the fourth round of the Australian Open.  Recently, Maria fired her long time tennis coach Michael Joyce and I think this was a good decision. However, I believe Maria’s problem is not about fitness, it is about her strategy on the tennis court. Maria needs to realize she can’t just hit the ball hard she needs a plan B or C to win matches now.

Maria needs to work on her serve, since Maria has returned from her shoulder injury she has served poorly. Maria had her shoulder surgery a few years ago and the media need to stop using it as an excuse. Sharapova’s serve dictated her game when she served well her game was powerful. She lacks the confidence because her serve is now a weakness. Sharapova needs to work hard on her serve to regain the consistency or she will continue to have poor results.

Next, I believe Maria needs to develop a net game. I am not suggesting that Maria become a serve and volley player, but I want her to play more doubles. Maria seems lost on the tennis court, and this is very sad. Women’s tennis needs Maria Sharapova because right now the WTA Tour is in a state of flux. The younger women are not developing and the older generation are starting to decline.

Meanwhile, Na Li of China destroyed Victoria Azarenka of Belarus 6-3 6-3 to advance to the quaterfinals of the Australian Open. Top seed Caroline Wozniacki recovered from being down 1-3 in the first set to beat Anastasija Sevastova 6-3-6-4 to reach the next round. Francesca Schivaone of Italy outlasted Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-4 1-6 16-14 in four hours and forty four minutes. Schiavone’s victory is the longest women’s match ever in grand slam history.

Hot Stud Of The Day: Sexy Tennis Champion Rafael Nadal In New Armani Ads!!!

Everyone knows I am a Roger Federer fan but damn these Armani ad pics of Rafael Nadal are so hot! Rafael is a great tennis champion and he has a lot of sex appeal. For example, Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi are great tennis champions but they are not attractive men. Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal has the ability to reach heterosexual women and gay male tennis fans. I wonder if Roger Federer would ever consider posing for an underwear ad? My only complaint about the ad is, I want  Rafael to reveal even more of his hot toned body!!

Another Day Another Rejection Letter.

Dear Orville,

Thanks so much for giving us the chance to read your work it is a

promising work, and you obviously put your heart into the project.

All of us at the Ross Yoon Agency found the personal tone to your narrative is what compellingly drives the work.

But as you probably know, the publishing industry is in dire straits right
now: more than 275,000 titles were released in America in the last year
alone, and all of them were competing for ever-diminishing marketing
budgets and sales totals. In this market, the major New York publishers we
work with are seeking books with national sales potential and wide media
access.

Unfortunately, we just don’t think we’ll be able to take on your project.
But we wish you the very best of luck.

Yours,

Anna Sproul

Australian Racism After Venus Williams Retired From Her Match Is Abhorrent & Shameful!!!!

People try to make a million excuses but the treatment Venus Williams received after retiring from her match today is racism.

An excuse is that, the Australian crowd just wanted to cheer the under dog opponent.

However, I never recall Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, or the obnoxious Andy Roddick being treated so unfairly as Venus Williams.

Venus retired from her third round match at the Australian Open today against the German player Andrea Petkovic.

Venus only lasted one game on the court due to her groin injury!  Venus was in extreme pain and she’s always been a classy young woman.

If Venus was a  white woman would she is treated with such disregard?

I have to ask the question because Venus has never gotten any respect when she competes at the Australian Open.

It is shameful, the way the Australian crowd treats Venus and they should be disappointed in themselves.

Venus is a seven time grand slam singles champion and she deserves better respect than that. Venus has never retired from a slam match until today. The attitude of the Australian crowd is abhorrent and the people excusing this anti black racism are hypocrites. Do people need a lesson about Australia’s history against non white people?

This is a country that had an Australian all white immigration only policy until the 1960s! In fact, Australia’s history against the Aborigines is really disgraceful!

Justine Henin and Venus Williams Lose In Third Round Of The Australian Open.

Former world number one tennis players Justine Henin and Venus Williams crashed out of the third round of the Australian Open.  Svetlana Kuznetsova a two time grand slam champion overpowered Henin 6-4 7-6 in straight sets. Henin’s third round match was difficult because Kuznetsova is a top player trying to get her confidence back. Henin lead her head to head series with Kuznetsova 16-2 so Henin was supposed to win. Henin’s comeback to women’s tennis has not been as successful has she probably hoped. The consistency is gone from Henin’s game she made 41 unforced errors in the match. Henin’s shot selection was also very poor. Kuznetsova played well and she deserves credit for holding firm and winning the match.

Meanwhile, Venus Williams pulled out of her third round match injured. Venus is thirty years old and she is no longer a contender in women’s tennis.

Justine Henin and Venus Williams may retire at the end of 2011 if they do not win any grand slam events. Perhaps the older generation on the WTA Tour’s time at the top is finally over?
