Thanks for introducing me to Bry’Nt! I sampled a few clips of him on YouTube! Love the beats and lyrics. I don’t listen to hiphop that often but this is pretty sweet for some reason! If you look at some of the comments on YouTube, there’s so much hate on it from the str8 guys, unreal! I commend Bry’Nt and other at hiphop/rappers for being true to themselves despite the man still won’t sign their music to good labels.

Hi Justin, I think that’s the problem with hip hop is there is a fear of male homosexuality. Some straight men feel their masculinity is threatned by gay men.I don’t know why? The quandary is, when will a major record label sign an openly gay rapper? I am not surprised at the anti gay comments on You Tube. However, I think a gay rapper just needs to have a huge hit song on a mix tape. If the mix tape or independent record is “huge” then the mainstream media and public will take notice.

That ‘porn star’ track was pretty awesome, and sounds ‘radio-ready’ to me (well, a clean version anyway!) I like how for once I dont have to listen to hiphop that’s mysogynist and disrepectful to women, now it’s time for men to be the sex objects (LOL j/k)

But yeah I don’t really understand why str8 black men in general are so intolerant of gay people. As a white dude, I would think that gays and blacks would become more of allies as both groups have been victims of oppression at some point in humanity. But in reality that’s not true.

Hi Justin, I think some straight black men view homosexuality as being a part of “white culture” and not “black culture”.
And of course since straight black men are also heterosexual they feel homosexuality threatens their masculinity. Of course, anthropology has proven homosexuality has existed in African cultures for centuries. However, there is still the belief of some blacks that homosexuality has been “imported” into black culture by the Europeans.

It is true that blacks and homosexuals encounter discrimination and it is unfortunate some blacks are intolerant of homosexuality.
But I think homophobia is a global problem in many countries across the world. For instance, Poland, Russia, Serbia, and Croatia are not thrilled about homosexuals either.
