Samantha Stosur Shocks Justine Henin She Is Eliminated From The French Open!!!
Samantha Stosur of Australia provided the biggest upset of the French Open defeating four time champion Justine Henin 2-6 6-1 6-4. Stosur played aggressive tennis, she attacked Henin’s backhand, and she blasted Henin’s second serve . Henin was surprised that Stosur did not give up after losing the first set. Samantha Stosur’s mental toughness has improved dramatically she just kept on fighting.
After the first set, Stosur found her range she started to hit bigger serves, blasting forehands, backhands, and attacking the net. I am very impressed with Samantha Stosur she is definitely a player to watch in the future.
Meanwhile, Serena Williams easily defeated Shahar Peer of Israel 6-2 6-2 she will face Stosur in the quarterfinals. This loss is a shock and a huge blow to Justine Henin’s confidence. Henin really needs to improve her serve, since she has returned to the WTA Tour Henin’s serve is now a liability.

Hi Orville, this is Ashley V. (which you may have already guessed).
Two down, one to go. First Sharapova lost to Henin, then Henin lost to Sam Stosur. Nadal needs to be eliminated next.
Sam Stosur is certainly one to watch out for. Her win over Henin, the queen of clay, has got to be her biggest ever victory. Serena better be on her A-game from this point onwards.
Orville, if Venus ought to think about retirement then Henin should go back into retirement. After all, she, like Venus, lost in the fourth round. Isn’t Henin supposed to be supreme on clay?
Ashley, you do have a point, I think I may have gone overboard with my comment. I am stunned that Justine Henin lost to Samantha Stosur.
I think this result just proves Justine Henin is a bit overrated by the media. The media “want” Justine to reach the top of women’s tennis again but I am not sure she has the confidence to get back there?
Justine was extremely nervous in the late stages of the third set. I was shocked that Justine got tight and not Samantha. Samantha had nerves of steel on the court I am very impressed with her game.
I didn’t believe that Stosur had the mental toughness to believe she can beat Henin. Stosur proved me wrong she has improved a lot. I feel that Justine Henin is not as good as she once was. It is obvious in Justine’s results this year that the competition has gotten tougher. I also think Justine needs to rethink her new aggressive style of play.
I am not a Nadal fan either, but I am not sure if anyone on his side of the draw honestly believe they can beat him. I think Nadal will blast Almagro. Djokovic or Meltzer I just don’t feel they have the confidence to believe they can beat him.
Serena does not give her opponents cedrit:On Henin: whenever I play her she brings out the best in meOn Sharapova: such a competitor. You know you have to play your best to beat her because she always plays until the last point. On Jankovic: She is very speedy around the court and gets a lot of balls back. You have to be on your game to beat her. These are only a few of the players that Serena has complimented. One of the reasons why Serena has perhaps never been warm towards Stosur may be because like Justine Henin, she also cheated Serena out of a point. In a match in Sydney there was a let on a serve and rather than admit that it was a let, Stosur played the ball and won the point, even though she knew very well that the first serve was a let. Serena went on to win the match, but since there has been nothing but cold courtesy between them. The Williams Family does not like cheating. If they lose, it is because of their opponent’s great play forcing them to commit UFEs. They admit that. However, when players blatantly cheat in order to win against them, where is the honour in that?
