R.I.P. Gary Coleman 1968-2010.

Today the “Different Strokes” television star  Gary Coleman has died at tender age of 42. A few days ago,  Gary hit his head and he suffered from a brain hemorrhage. He died in a Utah hospital. Gary Coleman’s story is very sad.

Gary sued his adopted parents for stealing his fortune but he only received a fraction of his millions after the court case. Gary was a victim of abuse from media because of his height.

Some people say Gary Coleman was bitter, but I believe had a right to angry. Gary tried to rise above the pain he experienced in his life.  Since Gary was only four feet eight, it was hard for him to transition to adult film roles.

Eleven years ago, “Different Strokes” television star Dana Plato committed suicide. A few weeks ago,  Plato’s son also committed suicide.  There is a cautionary tale here, Hollywood just takes advantage of talented young actors and spits them out.

The grief, pain, and despair Plato and Coleman experienced is just heartbreaking. I hope Todd Bridges can rise above his demons and live a productive life. I pray that the Lord watches over Todd Bridges and that Jesus Christ can help him learn from Gary and Dana’s tragedies.
