Venus Williams & Svetlana Kuznetsova Advance But Victoria Azarenka Is Eliminated From The French Open.

The reigning French Open Women`s champion, Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia, crushed Sorana Cirstea of Romania in straight sets 6-3 6-1 at the French Open.

Venus Williams of the United States blasted Patty Schnyder of Switzerland 6-3 6-3 and swiftly moved into the second round.

However, Gisela Dulko of Argentina shocked Victoria Azarenka of Belarus, 6-1 6-2 in a stunning upset. Azarenka is a talented young player, she reached the quarterfinals of the French Open last year.

In another upset, Akgul Amanuradova of Uzbekistan defeated Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez of Spain 6-2 6-4 in straight sets. Meanwhile, rising star Aravane Rezai of France rolled over  Heidi El Tabakh of Canada 6-1 6-1.
