Li Na Defeats Venus Williams she advances to Australian Open Women’s Semifinals.
Li Na of China defeated Venus Williams 2-6 7-6 7-5 at the Australian Open quarterfinals today. Venus served for the match leading 6-2 5-3 yet found a way to lose the match. The result is a like a record repeating, Venus always finds a way to capitulate in the grand slams outside of Wimbledon.
Li deserves credit, she did not give up she found a way to win. Venus has a history of choking in the grand slam events.
The result is not a surprise, Li beat Venus at the Olympics two years ago. Li joins her countrywoman Zie Zheng in the semifinals. The Chinese women have finally arrived at the top of women’s tennis.
Li will enter the WTA top ten next week and this is the first time a Chinese woman has reached the top of women’s tennis.
I believe Venus is so inconsistent, her forehand is garbage and her serve is a weakness. Venus has no self confidence anymore.
Venus is an underachiever, she is so pathetic I think she will retire if she continues to have these bad results.
Andy Murray Defeats Rafael Nadal Reaches The Australian Open Semifinals.
Andy Murray of the United Kingdom defeated Rafael Nadal of Spain 6-3 7-6 3-0 retired. I sincerely hope the media do not make excuses for Rafael Nadal today.
Once again, Nadal used his typical tricks to try to change the momentum in the match.
Nadal knew Murray’s confidence was high and he wanted to take Murray out of his rhythm.Rafael Nadal is so pathetic and transparent his dirty tactics backfired!
At the beginning of the third set, Rafael called the trainer during a critical point.
I believe the rules must change, if a player has an injury he or she should only be allowed to call the trainer at the change over.
Is anyone surprised that Nadal retired from the match? I am so sick of Nadal and his “knee” injuries.
Nadal pulled out of the match because he was losing and he did not want Murray to beat him 6-0 in the third set.
Now, the media will place an asterisk next to Murray’s win creating an excuse for Nadal.
I resent Rafael Nadal’s disgusting underhanded tactics, his behaviour on the court is disgraceful and unprofessional.
Well, it doesn’t matter what the press say Murray was going to win this match he was very determined.
Congrats to Andy Murray for not crumbling under the pressure in the second set tiebreaker!
Murray outplayed Nadal due to excellent footwork, crisp backhands, big service aces, huge forehands, at critical times in the match. Nadal lost this match, and Murray won it.
Nadal has a horrible record against the rest of the top ten for the past year. Rafael Nadal he has no self-confidence, he doesn’t believe in himself anymore, it is obvious.
The reason Nadal lost is because his serve is still a weakness on the hardcourts. Nadal doesn’t generate the winners necessary to win on the hardcourts in the big matches anymore. He can run around the court like a chicken and play a defensive game. However, Nadal needs to hit the ball flatter and develop more penetrating groundstrokes.
The serve is the most important shot in tennis, it is the shot the player can control. Nadal’s ranking will now drop because he is the defending Australian Open champion.
I don’t feel sorry for Nadal, he needs to stop making excuses about his “knees” and admit he lost because Murray was better.
The second set was critical for Murray to win. I believe if Murray had lost the second set Nadal would not retire from the match.
Nadal would have continued competing “if” he had won the second set. I am very happy that Rafael Nadal has been elimiated from the Australian Open this guy is such a flake.
Justine Henin & Zie Zheng Advance To The Australian Open Women’s Semifinals.
Justine Henin of Belgium defeated Nadia Petrova of Russia 7-6 7-5 in straight sets. Petrova played well to reach the quarterfinals she had impressive wins over Kim Clijsters and Svetlana Kuznetsova. However, Justine is such a great champion she played well when it mattered the most on the big points. Justine leads the head to head series with Petrova 13-2. The end result was never in doubt though, Justine is just an awesome champion.
Meanwhile, Zie Zheng of China continues her impressive performance at the Australian Open! Zheng dismissed the Russian Maria Kirilenko 6-1 6-3 to reach her second career grand slam semifinal. In the year 2008, Zheng reached the Wimbledon semifinals. I think Zheng is awesome she has so much talent. Although, Zheng is small, she has compact groundstrokes, excellent footwork, and good power.
Roger Federer, The Williams Sisters, Nikolay Davydenko, & Novak Djokovic all advance to the Australian Open Quarterfinals.
Serena Williams of the United States, she blasted Samantha Stosur of Australia 6-4 6-2. Stosur defeated Serena the last time they played in the quaterfinals at the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford California. Serena’s opponent in the quarterfinals will be Victoria Azarenka of Belarus, she defeated Vera Zvonareva of Russia 4-6 6-4 6-0.
Venus Williams regrouped to defeat Francesca Schivanone of Italy 3-6 6-2 6-1. Li stunned the number four women’s seed Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark 6-4 6-3 in straight sets. Venus will face Li in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, Roger Federer of Switzerland destroyed Lleyton Hewitt of Australia 6-2 6-3 -6-4 in straight sets. Now Roger has defeated Lleyton fifteen times in a row. Roger leads their head to head series 17-7. Nikolay Davydenko of Russia espaced in a tough five set win over Fernando Verdasco of Spain 6-2 7-5 4-6 6-7 6-3 he will face Roger in the quarterfinals.
Novak Djokovic of Serbia he is quietly moving through his section of th draw he brushed aside Lukaz Kubot of Poland 6-1 6-2 7-5. Djokoivc next opponent will be Jo Wilfried Tsonga of France he defeated Nicolas Almagro of Spain 6-3 6-4 4-7 6-7 9-7.
Article About Ex Gay & Pro Gay Movements In The American Prospect Magazine.
If you are gay man or a lesbian, there was probably a period of time in your life when you questioned whether or not you are truly homosexual? However, maybe you are gay or lesbian and you never had internal feelings of doubt about being a homosexual.
Of course, in my life I have questioned my sexual orientation. When I was young, I wondered whether not I am truly gay? I thought to myself, how can I like men and not women?
After all, we live in a heterosexist society where heterosexuality is forced into our faces on television, billboards, commericals, in the movies, books, magazines, on the street, and in the theatre.
The heterosexist matrix is everywhere and this opression against gay people can cause some gay men and lesbians to have feelings of self hatred.
I accepted my homosexuality when I was seventeen years old. I decided at that point I just wasn’t straight and I should not lie to myself anymore.
However, the time leading up accepting my adolescent years was a horrible time in my life. My teen years was a time of confusion, depression, pain, sadness, and grief.
My family knows I am gay it is no mystery, I am out of the closet. However, there are some gay people that are not out to their families because of a plethora of
reasons.
I also grew up during a time when society was making great strides in acccepting homosexuality in mainstream North American culture.
The only place I would feel “comfortable” expressing my homosexuality in the public sphere is on Church Street.
When I utilize the term “expressing my homosexuality” I am referring to public displays of affection.
Although, I am single, I have to admit when I see a gay or lesbian couple not on Church Street holding hands I do look. I have a sense of pride when
I see gay or lesbian couples confident and proud enough to walk the streets of Toronto expressing their homosexuality.
Now for people that don’t know, Church Street is basically the gay village in downtown Toronto.
However, I must admit, I still would feel uncomfortable displaying affection to another man on any other street.
Sometimes I am jealous when I see straight couples kissing on the sidewalk, or holding hands, or displaying other forms of affection.
I am cognizant of the fact as a gay man in Toronto “if” I had a boyfriend I “can” hold his hand or kiss him. I think to myself ” I wish I could do that.”
However, my argument is, there is also the fear of retribution and violence.
A lesbian can be raped by a man if he knows she is a lesbian. In fact, it can be very dangerous for a lesbian to express her homosexuality in the public sphere. Some
straight men believe they can “cure” a lesbian through male violence. Of course, since lesbians are women, there is the automatic threat of male violence against
women due to gender. My point here is, if a heterosexual man or a group of straight men see a lesbian expressing her lesbianism in the public sphere with another
woman she can become a potential victim of male violence.
Male homosexuality is still a taboo, even though gay marriage is legal in Canada. I have seen people laugh, hurl insults, or make negative comments at gay men that was expressing their homosexuality in the public sphere.
Gay bashing is a very serious issue and gay men we are targets by homophobes that believe male homosexuality is a violation of true masculinity. In some heterosexist men’s eyes, to be “gay” means you are not a “real man” because a “real man” is straight.
Of course, due to heterosexism the assumpion is that everyone is heterosexual and this is false. However, let’s say you are “deeply” conflicted about being gay to the point that it causes deep anxiety in your life.
The article I just read was written by Gabriel Arana he is a gay American man and was once an “ex gay.” An “ex gay” is a homosexual that wants to be “cured” of his or her’s homosexuality. Even though, the American Psychiatric Association delisted homosexuality as a mental illness in the early 1970s some gay people are still conflicted. I read Arana’s article with a feelings of pathos because it is so sad in the 21st century some gay people cannot accept their homosexuality.

Jay Sean’s new song featuring Craig David “stuck in the middle!” I wish this song was about me lol!
My fantasy has finally come true! LOL!
I am serious! I am happy that Jay Sean and Craig David decided work together.
Wow! Jay Sean and Craig David are incredible vocalists and they are hunks!
Jay Sean has a new song “stuck in the middle”, it features British soul singer Craig David.
“Stuck in the middle” is on Jay Sean’s new album “All or Nothing”.
I believe Jay Sean’s British label should release this song as a single in the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe! I think the British music fans will love this song!
Jay Sean and Craig David are both super hot! The song is on Jay Sean’s third album “All or Nothing.”
Craig David had his breakthrough a decade ago, his first album “Born To Do It”, sold 7 million copies worldwide . “Born To Do It” was certified platinum in the USA. Craig David’s second album “Slicker Than Your Average” was successful in Europe and reached gold status in America. Unfortnately, Craig David’s career cooled off in America although he is still popular in Europe.
Now a decade later, Jay Sean has exploded in America with his number one single
“Down” and he has a second top ten hit “Do You Remember.”
I am pleased that Jay Sean and Craig David are working together.
The song sounds nice. Can you imagine being stuck in the middle between Jay Sean and Craig David?
I like the song! What do you think? Do you like the song?
Can Oprah Help Jay Leno Repair His Tarnished Image?
According to Entertainment Weekly, Jay Leno will appear on the Oprah Winfrey show next week Thursday in Los Angeles. Oprah and Jay are close friends. In fact, Jay has appeared on Oprah’s show many times in the past.
Can Oprah help Jay Leno turn his tarnished image around?
Oprah has the midas touch. Remember Whitney Houston when she released her album last September?
Whitney talked about mixing cocaine with marijuana and yet she came off as a sympathetic victim. After Whitney appeared on Oprah, her record sales skyrocketed. Oprah has this incredible power over the masses.
Oprah’s influence can help Jay Leno tap into the middle age demographic audience. Remember, Oprah’s core audience are the baby boomers. If the baby boomers have empathy for Jay Leno this could translate into ratings for his show.
Although, NBC has cut Conan O’ Brien loose Jay Leno looks like the villian in this fiasco.
Since Jay Leno and Oprah are good friends, perhaps Jay will be more comfortable and tell the truth? However, the cynical side of me thinks this is just public relations 101. Jay Leno can craft an image that he is just an “innocent bystander” and he had “nothing” to do with Conan getting to boot.
What do you guys think? Is this a good idea for Jay Leno or is the tell all Oprah interview too soon?
Kim Clijsters & Jelena Jankovic are out. However, Justine Henin survives she advances to fourth round of the Australian Open.
Nadia Petrova of Russia, destroyed Kim Clijsters of Belgium 6-0 6-1 in a stunning upset at the Australian Open today in the third round. The match only lasted fifty two minutes!
The result is very strange because Clijsters had a 3-1 lead in her head to head series with Petrova. Petrova is a talented player but she doesn’t have the mental toughness or the discipline to be a top five player. Petrova is a former top ten player , but she is so inconsistent with her results.
Clijsters had a lot of momentum, she is the 2009 US Open champion and she won Brisbane International two weeks ago.
Was Kim injured? Was she sick or not feeling well? What happened? Today’s result is the worst loss ever in Kim Clijsters incredible career.
Kim is such a great champion, she is so consistent. I am stunned! I can’t believe this! Wow!
Petrova is very mentally weak, she has a history of choking in big matches. Something is wrong with Kim physically or maybe she was mentally fatigued? I don’t understand this result? How is this possible? It doesn’t make sense?
Meanwhile, Justine Henin of Belgium, survived her tough third round match against Alisa Kleybanova of Russia and won 3-6 6-4 6-2. Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium, she turned back Sara Errani of Italy 6-1 6-7 6-3 she will face Henin in the fourth round. Alona Bondarenko of Ukraine, upset Jelena Jankovic of Serbia 6-2 6-3.
The number two women’s seed Dinara Safina of Russia rolled into the fourth round with a 6-1 6-2 win over the British woman Elena Baltacha. Maria Kirilenko of Russia defeated the Italian woman Roberta Vinci 7-5 7-6 she will face Safina in the next round. Zie Zheng of China she upset Marion Bartoli of France 5-7 6-3 6-0. Zheng she will face Bondarenko in the fourth round.
