Can Oprah Help Jay Leno Repair His Tarnished Image?

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jay Leno will appear on the Oprah Winfrey show next week Thursday in Los Angeles. Oprah and Jay are close friends. In fact, Jay has appeared on Oprah’s show many times in the past.

Can Oprah help Jay Leno turn his tarnished image around?

Oprah has the midas touch. Remember Whitney Houston when she released her album last September?

Whitney talked about  mixing cocaine with marijuana and yet she came off as a sympathetic victim.  After Whitney appeared on Oprah, her record sales skyrocketed. Oprah has this incredible power  over the masses.

Oprah’s influence can help Jay Leno tap into the middle age demographic audience. Remember, Oprah’s core audience are  the baby boomers. If the baby boomers have empathy for Jay Leno this could translate into ratings for his show.

Although, NBC has cut Conan O’ Brien loose Jay Leno looks like the villian in this fiasco.

Since Jay Leno and Oprah are good friends, perhaps Jay will be more comfortable and tell the truth? However, the cynical side of me thinks this is just public relations 101. Jay Leno can craft an image that he is just an “innocent bystander” and he had “nothing” to do with Conan getting to boot.

What do you guys think? Is this a good idea for Jay Leno or is the tell all Oprah interview too soon?

Kim Clijsters & Jelena Jankovic are out. However, Justine Henin survives she advances to fourth round of the Australian Open.

Nadia Petrova of Russia, destroyed Kim Clijsters of Belgium 6-0 6-1 in  a stunning upset at the Australian Open today in the third round.  The match only lasted fifty two minutes!

The result is very strange because Clijsters had a 3-1 lead in her head to head series with Petrova. Petrova is a talented player but she doesn’t have the mental toughness or the discipline to be a top five player. Petrova is a former top ten player , but she is so inconsistent with her results.

Clijsters had a lot of momentum, she is the  2009 US Open champion and she won Brisbane International two weeks ago.

Was Kim injured? Was she sick or not feeling well? What happened?  Today’s result is the worst loss  ever in Kim Clijsters incredible career.

Kim is such a great champion, she is so consistent. I am stunned! I can’t believe this! Wow!

Petrova is very mentally weak, she has a history of choking in big matches. Something is  wrong with Kim physically or maybe she was mentally fatigued?  I don’t understand this result?    How is this possible? It doesn’t make sense?

Meanwhile,  Justine Henin of Belgium, survived her tough third round match against Alisa Kleybanova of Russia and won 3-6 6-4 6-2. Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium, she turned back Sara Errani of Italy 6-1 6-7  6-3 she will face Henin in the fourth round.   Alona Bondarenko of Ukraine, upset Jelena Jankovic of Serbia 6-2 6-3.

The number two women’s seed Dinara Safina of Russia rolled into the fourth round with a 6-1 6-2 win over the British woman Elena Baltacha. Maria Kirilenko of Russia defeated the Italian woman Roberta Vinci 7-5 7-6 she will face Safina in the next round. Zie Zheng of China she upset Marion Bartoli of France 5-7 6-3 6-0. Zheng she will face Bondarenko in the fourth round.
