Roger Federer Is The Athlete Of The Decade Not Tiger Woods!!!
According to the Associated Press, Tiger Woods is the male athlete of the decade! How is this possible? Is this xenophobia? Woods won twelve majors this decade but Roger Federer won fifteen majors! It is obvious the American editors are biased since Woods is also American! Federer won more slams than Woods he also completed the grand slam this year. Federer finally won the French Open this year! Federer clearly deserves to be the male athlete of the decade. Also, Federer doesn’t cheat on his wife he is a respectable man he’s not Tiger Woods!
Woods is a dirty dog, he cheated on his innocent wife Elin with prostitutes, strippers, pancake waitresses, and club hostesses. Roger Federer is a clean man and he lives a very clean life.
If you look at the statistics it is clear Federer had the superior decade. Federer has reached been number one for 237 weeks, he once won 24 finals in a row, he also has reached 22 consecutive grand slam semifinal or better. Federer has been in 17 of the last 18 grand slam finals. Federer has won an Olympic gold medal. Federer wasn’t even in second place that was reserved for another American cyclist Lance Armstrong! Armstrong has been accused by the French media of being a steroid cheat!

The greatest men usually are dirty dogs dear. Muhammad Ali the Greatest Athlete of 20th Century (and the Prettiest) was HUGE Cheater Elijah Muhammad messed around ALOT,so did Bob Marley, Elvis Presley, John Kennedy. King David from the Bible got his friend killed so he could steal his wife Bathsheba. Great men have great appetites food, drink, women…..Other MEN lol. Tiger is no different. And Yes Federer definitely should have gotten the award.
FEDERER IS WAY ABOVE WOODS both professionally & personally..
On which grounds did they give Woods the award?? Tiger does not deserve any honor.
Definitely Roger should’ve got it..
Well, with all that exercise he has been getting with these women, he seems deserving of athlete of the decade.
Nah, Federer deserves it or Usain Bolt. Not this idiot.
Golf is not a sport, Tiger is not an athlete. He should be disqualified based on that alone.
I definitely agree that Federer deserved this award. Giving the top two spots to American only indicates that the Americans editors have been biased toward the other two American sportsmen. The statistics don’t lie.
An athlete should not be judged only by his/her on-court performance. Their off-court demeanor also keeps an equal importance. Coming up with such results only make this award insignificant. Maybe the athlete chosen is the “athlete of the decade only in America” and not elsewhere.
The global ambassador of sports is Roger Federer, in my view. He has been at the top of his sport for half a decade now and the decade is still not over. No sportsman has been more dominating in his/her field of sport as Federer has been. Moreover, Federer has won Laureus Sportsman of the year award 4 times, while Woods only 2. This shows that even the world’s leading sports editors and writers agree that Federer has been the best sportsman of the decade. I guess I have said enough. The only way one can not give importance to this award is by not recognizing it.
Long Live the Sports King – Roger Federer!!!
I’m with ya. Federer for sure. Who can’t see that? And, why reward some jerk anyway?
Yes, how you conduct yourself off the course or court matters.
And Roger is a gentleman. I thought Tiger was as well, a bit cool, but a gentleman. Not so much.
Tiger might be the greatest golfer but athlete? No way! Roger Federer IS the athlete of the Decade and shame on the AP for not giving him the award.
Dude, I think you are comparing apples and oranges in at least two ways. First of all, I absolutely agree that Roger is the athlete of the decade and that’s actually how I stumbled onto your site. I get the feeling that the sports scene is not part of your usual bailiwick in that overlooking sports star’s transgressions is part of the game, pun intended. I am saying that Tiger’s personal behavior has nothing to do with determining who is athlete of the decade. We really don’t know what Roger does on tour, though I like to beleive he is loyal to his wife (and I would love to be the fly on the wall listening to Roger talking to Tiger about his actions; they are–or were– good buds). So, let’s not confuse personal morality with athleticism. The second apple and orange comparison comes when we put Roger and Tiger in the same category as players (and I am stealing this from a tennis blogger, but makes sense to me). Tiger walks around a golf course while Roger puts in miles of running in a typical match. Tiger is hitting a ball with very little distraction while Roger is having to hit a ball back to his opponent about once per second at close to 90 mph during a rally. Golfers don’t cramp. You get the point. So, while Tiger may be the “player” of the decade because golf is a game, Roger is clearly the “athlete” of the decade once you begin looking at his domination and achievements. And to answer your question, yes, the AP naming Tiger Athlete of the Decade was xenophobic. Hell, they made Lanc Armstrong number 2 and Roger third. Happy New Year.
