Will Maggie Gyllenhaal Receive An Oscar Nomination For Her Performance In Crazy Heart?

Jeff Bridges has received a lot of Oscar buzz for his performance in the independent drama Crazy Heart. In the film Crazy Heart Jeff Bridges character is a washed up country singer and Maggie Gyllenhaal’s character is a journalist that covers his story. Some media insiders are calling Crazy Heart this year’s “The Wrestler”.  I will definitely check out Crazy Heart because I am a huge Maggie Gyllenhaal fan and I believe she deserves an Oscar nomination.

Maggie was robbed of an Oscar nominations for incredible performances in Secretary and Sherrybaby. I have to see this movie when it is released in December I love Maggie Gyllenhaal. I believe Maggie is one of the best actresses of her generation. Maggie is a serious actress she has strong views on the craft of acting. I appreciate Maggie’s dedication to acting and I want her to win an Oscar.

Why Is The Media Favouring Adam Lambert Over Kris Allen?

Kris Allen won American Idol yet he seems like the underdog here. I wonder why? Allen won American Idol yet Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, Reuters, Associated Press seem to be praising Adam Lambert.

Since Lambert is openly gay this is obviously one of the reasons he has received more media attention. I am not suggesting Lambert is not talented. However, I think it’s kind of crude that the winner of American Idol is being treated like an afterthought. I listened to Lambert’s album and it is actually very safe and in the middle of the road. Kris Allen co wrote nine of the songs on his album. Lambert only co wrote four of the songs on his record.
