Nigerian Writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Earlier this week I was in the bookstore and I saw a beautiful African woman on the cover of Poets & Writers magazine.
I immediately dropped the tennis magazine I was reading and started to read the article on this amazing woman.
I know I am late but I just learned about the Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie this week.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is gorgeous, she is sexy!!!
I read the article about Chimamanda’s life and experiences as a writer.
I will purchase Chiamamanda’s novel “Half of a Yellow Sun” ASAP!
Friday Afternoon In Downtown Toronto

Today I met a friend Vanessa at the York Mills subway station in Toronto at 1:30pm. The first time I met Vanessa was at the first meeting for the black history month issue in 2002 for the Excalibur newspaper. Vanessa is an accomplished writer, her publishing resume is very impressive. For instance, Vanessa recently was published in O Magazine.
On the subway ride downtown, we talked about dealing with rejection from editors and publishers.
We also talked about the burning desire to get published more frequently.
I agree with Vanessa’s perspective, networking is very important in the literary world. I want to improve on my networking skills.
We caught the subway and travelled downtown to Yonge and Dundas to the Chapters/Indigo bookstore. I asked a customer service representative where the literary magazines were located.
Meanwhile, Vanessa was in the music magazine section looking for the Rolling Stone special issue on Michael Jackson. Vanessa bought the magazine, she also purchased a three disc set of Nina Simone for only $14.99!!!
We walked over to Queen Street West and went down on Adelaide to a classic Italian pizza joint. The pizzas were delicious!
After lunch we walked back to Nathan Phillips Square there was an arts and crafts exhibition.
Next, we went back to World’s Biggest Bookstore and I bought the complete poems by Anne Sexton!!!!
I got very excited when Vanessa saw a copy of Anne Sexton’s complete poems.
I have been looking everyone for Anne Sexton’s poetry. The poetry volune including the 1967 Pulitzer Prize winning collection “Live Or Die”.
We crossed the street over to HMV I wanted to see if can find any new seasons of the lesbian TV show the L Word on DVD.
I couldn’t decide which season to purchase so I didn’t buy any. We walked on Church Street for a bit and then headed back up to Yonge.
We arrived at Yonge and Bloor subway station and we caught the subway back to Finch Subway station.
Mariah Carey’s Dress At Jackson Memorial Out Of Line Or Appropriate?
According to the cynics & critics Mariah Carey looked like a two dollar hooker at the Jackson memorial. I disagree I think Mariah looked elegant in the long black dress she wore to the Michael Jackson memorial.
According to some bloggers Mariah was just trying to expose her breasts. However, Mariah has always had large breasts she can’t help it.
Also, I feel the gown is tasteful compared to some of her outfits.
Mariah can’t help being so beautiful, it’s like some people want Mariah to wear a sack on her head or something.
Roger Federer Is The Greatest Male Tennis Player Of All Time!!!!

Roger Federer barely defeated Andy Roddick yesterday in the men’s Wimbledon final 5-7 7-6 7-6 3-6 16-14.
Roger’s victory means he now has fifteen grand slam singles titles more then any other male tennis singles champion in the history of the tennis.
I also want to point out Roger has won all four grand slams he is one of only six men to have won all four majors.
The fifth set was the longest final set in Wimbledon men’s tennis history. The final set lasted an hour and a half.
Both men played incredible tennis but Roger’s mental toughness and desire was stronger and that’s why he won.
I am surprised Roddick played so well I am impressed!
It is clear to me that Andy Roddick should of won this match he was playing better then Roger.
Roddick choked the second set tiebreaker, he had four set points when he was leading 6-2 in the second set and lost the tiebreak.
If Andy Roddick had won the second set he would of won Wimbledon.
Roger did not play his best tennis but he’s such an incredible champion he won.
Roger has also returned to the number one ranking in thhe world he surpasses Rafael Nadal.
I read on the internet that Nadal is going through some personal issues, it appears his parents are getting a divorce.
ATP Tour Top Ten Men’s Tennis Rankings July 6th 2009

The Proposal Is An Excellent Romantic Comedy!!!

Last night I saw the “The Proposal” at the Varsity Theatre in Toronto with a female friend.
The theatre was packed and I laughed so hard!
Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds have incredible chemistry!
I will admit the film is predictable but I was not bored this movie was so much fun!
The movie is so funny from the beginning to the end. Betty White had a huge role in the movie she is an amazing actress.
I recommend “The Proposal” the movie is just hilarious!
Venus Williams Is An Underachiever & Mentally Weak
Venus Williams continues to fold under the pressure she lost to her sister Serena once again at Wimbledon. I hate watching these Williams Sisters grand slam finals!!! Why didn’t Venus hit some slice or change the pace? Venus doesn’t believe in herself when she plays Serena. Serena has a 6-2 edge in grand slam finals. Venus is a great champion, but she is also an underachiever, she should of won more then seven slams.
Serena doesn’t care when she plays Venus she wants to win at all costs. Venus is different she seems confused, she actually cares and worries too much about Serena.
Venus serve deserted her in the final she just was off her game. Why didn’t Venus serve and volley? Why didn’t Venus approach the net more often?
Venus needs to wake up and realize she’s not getting any younger this was her chance to match Billie Jean King at six Wimbledon singles titles.
Once again Venus loses to Serena and I fear this loss will once again destroy her self confidence.
Yes it is true Serena has a more consistent serve and forehand, but Venus just doesn’t believe in herself when she plays Serena. I don’t see the fire in Venus when she plays Serena she is so passive she doesn’t believe in herself or her incredible talents.
I am disappointed in Venus and I fear she may never win another grand slam ever again. Venus is 29 years old she’s not getting any younger. I feel sorry for Venus because she doesn’t have the killer instinct when she plays Serena.
Was Michael Jackson Gay, Straight, Or Bisexual?

The mainstream news organizations have published articles about Michael Jackson’s confusion over his racial identity, finances, and the incendiary child abuse allegations.
However, was Michael Jackson gay, bisexual, or straight?
What do you think? I think Michael Jackson was a very complex, depressed, and confused man.
I also think that Michael Jackson resented his African American features in favour of European features.
