In the 1980s, Pat Buchanan incited fear against blacks. Fast forward to the  the present, and Buchanan he is complaining about immigrants. Where are the articles about Lou Dobbs broadcasting racism and xenophobia against immigrants on CNN? Dobbs hasn’t been fired from CNN because his program generates controversy and television ratings. Buchanan’s prejudices are well known. Robertson, Dobbs, and Buchanan are white Republicans that utilize the public stage to express their prejudices.

Where are the pieces about Pat Robertson and the 700 Club’s racism and homophobia? Robertson spreads his bigotry on television in the public sphere daily. The public should be questioning why the mainstream media are so focused on Reverend Wright? Wright is from a different generation he lived through racial apartheid and segregation. Senator Obama speech this week was beautiful he denounced Wright’s comments but also focused on the double standards of the mainstream press.

    Kandee says :

They’ll just say that those people are individuals and don’t reflect the Republican party. Just in case you were wondering, one Black person speaks for all Blacks. *rolling eyes*
