Eight random facts about me
I got tagged by a fellow blogger Aulelia so here are eight random facts about myself.
1. I am average height 5 feet 11 inches tall or 180 cm.
2. My first name is Orville. I remember when I was a child I hated my first name because I was teased and made fun of a lot because of it. My siblings have regular normal names. Now that I am an adult I realize my name makes me stand out a bit its kind of original. Although if you’ve ever been to Jamaica the name Orville is kind of popular there.
3. I like to read a lot of international newspapers. I try to pay attention to world events. Although I must admit that the so called “media” indeed has a bias. I believe the USA media is too focused on the Middle East and ignores other parts of the world such as Asia, Africa, and South America.
4. I like to watch professional tennis I used to play the sport when I was a kid but I wasn’t good at it.
5. I love Zora Neale Hurston and Langston Hughes a lot. I consider them both role models of mine. I also believe Hurston and Hughes are the two most important writers of the 20th century. I have read Hurston and Hughes autobiographies. Hurston wrote “Dust Tracks On A Road” it was published in 1942. And Langston Hughes first memoir “The Big Sea” was published in the year 1940.
6. I only watch two reality TV shows the Amazing Race and Big Brother. I do not like Survivor I find Survivor too pretentious and unrealistic.
7.I live outside of the city of Toronto in the suburbs.
8. I wish I was in better shape.
