Serena advances at the French Open

2007_08_09t154718_450x293_us_tennis_women_serena.jpg       I woke  up around 7:30 am go on the internet and check the TSN’S tennis page.  According to the TSN website there is an alternative channel in the Toronto area for live tennis.  However, there was a rain delay and on Court Suzanne Lenglen and Serena was down 5-6 in the first set against Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova. I could not believe Serena lost the first set but she did. Serena seemed sluggish but after the rain delay she quickly turned around the match 5-7 6-1 6-1. Some people on various websites made a big deal about Serena losing the first set but Serena is a champion and she found her way.

TSN schedule for the first week of the  French Open is totally unacceptable. For starters, there is a six hour time difference between Paris France and Toronto Canada. Now any tennis fan can simply go on the internet and get the results. I tried going to Eurosport to see if I could see some fre feed but since I am from Canada it was unavailable. Next, I tried the Yahoo tennis page but once again the free feed in not available for Canadians. Finally, someone was nice enough to point out that if I went to www.channelsurfing.net  I could see some free feed. However, its not that great but it will do I guess. The tennis coverage in Canada starts at 9:00sm now that is 3:00pm Paris time meaning plenty of matches will have taken place. And since TSN gets their feed from  ESPN  network will of course show matches on tape delay!!!

It is so frustrating the way how professional tennis is treated by TSN. No hockey fan would watch the Stanley Cup on tape delay! How about the NBA championships! I can’t imagine some NBA fans would be thrilled to watch the finals on tape delay! Yet tennis fans we always get screwed around by TSN for this crap!
